Mentoring, professional development, and professional learning communities:
New school principals are mentored by experienced district principals as a result of this project. Design Team members with leadership from School of Education professor John Diamond developed curriculum and implemented programming. Principals are focusing on leading high performing teams and leading for equity. Additionally, UW-Madison School of Education faculty John Diamond and Gloria Ladson-Billings guided equity conversations to ensure that every new principal in the district, as well as the experienced principals, realize their leadership could contribute to substantial growth in their buildings.
Principal Induction - The Principal Design Team’s induction plan includes cohort meetings and targeted professional development. New principals are supported in developing leadership plans that will positively affect and support high levels of student learning.
